ETHNOGUESSR
ETHNOGUESSR
EthnoGuessr is a geography-based guessing game inspired by the popular game GeoGuessr, but with a unique cultural twist. Instead of identifying real-world locations from Google Street View imagery, players are challenged to determine the ethnic group, region, or country based on cultural clues such as:
Traditional clothing
Folklore, rituals, or ceremonies
Music, dance, and instruments
Language snippets or writing systems
Architectural styles or village layouts
Art, crafts, and symbols
Food, tools, or agricultural scenes
Each round presents a curated image, audio clip, or short video clip drawn from real ethnographic archives or specially designed content. Players must analyze the visual and auditory cues to make an educated guess about the cultural origin of the content.
The game encourages players to explore the rich diversity of human cultures around the globe. Whether it’s identifying the Tuvan throat singing from Central Asia, Maasai beadwork from East Africa, or Sami reindeer herding practices in Scandinavia, EthnoGuessr blends fun gameplay with immersive cultural education.
