Guessing: Players guess letters one at a time. If a guessed letter is in the word, it is revealed in the correct position. For instance, guessing “L” would reveal the letters as “_ _ L L _”.
Incorrect Guesses: For each incorrect guess, a part of a penalty figure (often a stick figure in the case of Hangman) is drawn. The number of incorrect guesses allowed before the game is lost is usually predefined.
Winning and Losing: The player wins if they can guess all the letters in the word before running out of allowed incorrect guesses. The game is lost if the penalty figure is fully drawn before the word is guessed.
